Who, Exactly, Is Name Calling?

The liberals love to whine about name calling if they think someone else is doing it. But when they do it, it's common sense and patriotism.

Remember when Joe Wilson yelled at Obama that he was a liar during his address to Congress? The Democrats were quick to condemn him and admonish him in a vote.

Remember the crocodile tears Pelosi shed in a conference when she lamented the tone of the health care debate?

You would think they would be the most civil people on earth. Sadly, we see this is not the case. I am talking about things like Tom Friedman at the New York Times saying this parallels what was happening in Israel right before Rabin was assassinated.

I am talking about all the screeching from liberals about the death of Bill Sparkman, the census worker who was murdered with "fed" scrawled across his chest. Who was responsible for the murder? The guy who did it? Why no, it was conservatives who encouraged it with their hate speech.

And now I am talking about Florida Rep. Alan Grayson, who says the Republican health care proposal is simply to "die quickly." He compares what is going on today with the Holocaust.

Don't you think it's a bit childish to be talking like that? The Holocaust was intentional; I don't see anything intentional going on here. People were targeted for their race; nothing like that going on here. People were tortured and experimented on; nothing like that going on here, either.

The Holocaust was a miserable time in human existence. It was horrifying and perpetrated by monsters. And to compare Republicans to Nazis is inexcusable.

So the Democrats are going to jump on this guy, right?

Right?

The fourth-highest ranking Democrat in the House, Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., said he would encourage Grayson to apologize. "We should keep in mind the rules of the House and the way we speak to one another," he said.

But Larson didn't seem open to having the House discipline Grayson in the same manner as Wilson, saying many other lawmakers would then have to be punished.
