The Commercial That Almost Isn't

The group League of American Voters has put together a 30-second ad featuring a neurosurgeon warning about the government health care plan's impact on medicine and health care. It began airing two weeks ago on local affiliates for ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox. However, at a national level, ABC and NBC refuse to air it.

ABC's spokeswoman Susan Sewell said in a written statement, "The ABC Television Network has a long-standing policy that we do not sell time for advertising that presents a partisan position on a controversial public issue. Just to be clear, this is a policy for the entire network, not just ABC News."

This coming from a network that had no problem airing an Obama infomercial covering health care reform.

NBC's spokeswoman Liz Fischer told FOXNews.com, "We have not rejected the ad. We have communicated with the media agency about some factual claims that require additional substantiation. As always, we are happy to reconsider the ad once these issues are addressed."

The original article can be found here and the ad can be found on YouTube here.
